Slow-moving cinema can be very tedious to watch and challenging to make; Stalker is a prime example. The production of this film was full trials and tribulation, and it's even speculated it may have been the cause of Tarkovsky and some of the crew's deaths. Stalker was not, however, tedious to watch. Every frame is full of gorgeous detail as the three main characters move through a beautifully haunting landscape. There is a lot to love from Stalker, but I don't think it's for everyone. As I said, this is slow-moving cinema. The film is more concerned with letting you get lost in thought as the camera stalks these characters through their journey. I would recommend this film to anyone that isn't put off by the run time and slow pace.
