I watched The Highwaymen kind of randomly. I saw Woody Harelson and the fact that it was a period piece, and that was good enough for me. I didn’t even really read the brief synopsis Netflix gives. Once I started watching, I was intrigued by the premise since I’ve enjoyed other movies about Bonnie and Clyde in the past. Around the start of the second act is where this movie starts to drag. There are fun moments here and there and some passable performances. I don’t remember much about the cinematography, but it was shot competently. Kevin Costner was one note for pretty much the whole movie, didn’t seem interested in the film at all. Woody Harelson was pretty good wasn’t much to work with when it came to script. The Costner issue could stem from poor writing as well, but he’s incredibly dull. I don’t know who to recommend this one to. If you like Bonnie and Clyde movies, I suppose you might enjoy this.
