The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2018)

I was a fan of the first Lego movie. I found the animation exciting and fresh, and it was light entertainment I could get behind. The more “childish” elements were forgivable, and I didn’t find it ever talked down to kids. This second installment, however, did nothing new to win me over. Most of the visual elements were mostly the same, but the charm and freshness were gone. The life lesson in this movie felt much more one dimensional, and it did seem to speak down to its core audience. There were moments I got a similar amount of enjoyment as I did watch the first movie, but they were few and far between. I would recommend to anyone who enjoyed the first movie and is looking for a little more.
